해외의 리뷰에서 이 가격대에서 이렇게 뛰어난 음질을 구현하는 제품은 드물다는 평을 받은 파라사운드는 마크레빈슨 ML 시리즈를 설계한 존 컬(John Curl)이 설계하는 앰프들로 극한의 가성비로 해외에서 큰 이슈를 만들고 있습니다.
또한, 유명 스튜디오인 Pixar나 Sony, Lucas Film과 같은 곳에서도 사용되는 레퍼런스적인 성향이 강한 앰프입니다. 이중 파라사운드 Halo 인티앰프는 스테레오파일에서 권장되는 컴포넌트로 선정되기도 했습니다.
JC 2 BP 프리앰프는 전작 JC 1과 같이 존 컬이 설계하였으며, JC 1과 비슷한 디자인을 가지고 있습니다. 전면 패널은 앰프가 작동 될 때 밝은 빨간색으로 빛나는 상단 중앙의 직사각형 빨간색 로고와 맨 오른쪽의 볼륨컨트롤 및 좌, 우 2 개의 채널 게인을 최대 -10dB 조정하는 노브로 구성되어 있습니다.
전면 아래쪽에는 제품 on/off와 인풋을 선택하는 스위치가 양쪽으로 위치하고 6개의 인풋을 표시하는 LED가 디자인을 완성합니다. 후면 패널은 좌, 우의 동일한 구성의 입출력 단이 있으며 밸런스, 언밸러스단을 갖추고 있습니다.
내부의 수직 약 1cm 두께의 알루미늄 패널은 섀시를 3개의 차폐 영역으로 분리된 설계를 보여줍니다.
왼쪽에는 R코어 변압기와 빠른 소프트 복구 브리지 정류기 및 다이오드를 기반으로 한 인덕터 평활 전원 공급 장치가 있습니다.
릴레이 코일, 트리거, LED 및 제어 회로를위한 별도의 전원 공급 장치로서 전면 패널 뒤의 수직 보드에 장착되어 있습니다.
전원 공급 장치 및 제어 섹션으로부터 차폐된 오디오 회로는 각 채널에 대해 별도의 보드에 탑재되어 있으며, 상보형 FET를 기반으로하고 있으며, 이것은 John Curl의 설계 특징입니다.
이 회로는 신호 경로에 커패시터가없고 서보 회로로 DC 오프셋이 제어되는 직접 결합형입니다. 짧은 신호 경로 다음에 입력 잭은 입력 선택 스위치로 구동되는 릴레이에 전원을 공급합니다.
